Components:
Regarding Marinaded Chicken:
. 500g of deboned chicken, sliced into small pieces
. one cup of yogurt
. One spoonful of paste made of ginger and garlic
. One tsp red chili powder
. Half a teaspoon of powdered turmeric
. One tsp garam masala
. To taste, add salt to the chickpea batter.
. One cup of besan (chickpea flour)
. One teaspoon baking soda and two tablespoons rice flour
. Half a teaspoon of ajwain, or carom seeds
. Half a teaspoon of powdered red chili
. Water (as needed for batter consistency) and salt to taste
Additional components:
. vegetable-based frying oil
. leaves of fresh coriander (for garnish)
. slices of lemon (for serving)
Instructions:
1. Let the chicken marinate:
Yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, turmeric, red chili powder, garam masala, and salt should all be combined in a bowl. Blend thoroughly.
Make sure the chicken pieces are thoroughly coated before adding them to the marinade. For optimal flavor, let it marinade for at least a couple of hours or overnight in the fridge.
2. Making the Batter of Chickpeas:
Chickpea flour, rice flour, baking soda, carom seeds, red chili powder, and salt should all be combined in a different bowl.
Water should be added gradually while whisking to create a thick, lump-free batter.
3. Deep-fry the Pakoras of Chicken:
In a saucepan or deep fryer, warm the vegetable oil over medium heat.
Make sure the marinated chicken pieces are thoroughly covered by dipping them into the chickpea batter.
Drop the coated chicken into the heated oil with caution. Fry the pakoras in batches until they are crispy and golden brown.
After removing the chicken pakoras with a slotted spoon, set them aside to absorb extra oil on a paper towel.
4. Serving and Garnishing:
Add some new coriander leaves as a garnish.
Together with your preferred chutney or sauce and some lemon wedges, serve the chicken pakoras hot.
5. Have fun:
These tasty and crispy chicken pakoras are a great little snack or starter. Enjoy them with a cup of tea or serve them at gatherings.
To suit your tastes, feel free to experiment with different dipping sauces and alter the spice levels.
