simple korean beef recipe

 


Ingredients: 

  • 1 pound, or roughly 450 grams thinly sliced meat (sirloin or ribeye)
  • half a cup of soy sauce

  • One-fourth cup brown sugar
  • Two tsp of sesame oil
  • three minced garlic cloves
  • One tablespoon of freshly grated ginger
  • two tsp rice wine or mirin
  • One tablespoon of sesame seeds (for garnish only, optional)
  • Two sliced green onions (for garnish)
  • One tablespoon of cooking-grade vegetable oil
  • Prepared white rice (to be served)

Instructions:

  1. Get the marinade ready:

Combine soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, grated ginger, chopped garlic, and mirin in a bowl.

2. Marinate the beef:


The thinly sliced meat should be put in a Ziploc bag or a shallow plate.

Make sure the steak is thoroughly coated after pouring the marinade over it.


For optimal flavor, marinate for at least 30 minutes or up to 24 hours in the refrigerator.

3. Prepare the Beef:


In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat.

After adding the marinated beef, cook it for two to three minutes, or until it is well done and has a lovely caramelized crust.

4. Serve and garnish:


Over the cooked steak, scatter sesame seeds and finely sliced green onions.

Steamed rice is served with the Korean beef.
